BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Baiduri Bank has been named Best Retail Bank in Brunei at the TAB Global Excellence in Retail Finance Awards 2026, recognising the bank’s continued progress in strengthening its retail franchise through disciplined growth, digital innovation and a customer-first approach anchored on financial wellness.

According to the award citation, the bank demonstrated strong retail growth, supported by stable deposits, wealth progression and deep digital engagement.

These outcomes were driven by a shift towards advisory-led banking and the launch of the Bank’s Financial Wellness Centre, positioning Baiduri Bank as a leader in financial empowerment.

Chief Executive Officer of Baiduri Bank Ti Eng Hui said, “Recognition like this reflects the consistency of our long-term strategy and the discipline behind how we continue to strengthen the Bank.

Over the past few years, we’ve focused on strengthening our foundations, from our core platform and digital capabilities to how we support customers as their needs change.

We’re grateful for the trust our customers place in us, and this recognition motivates us to keep raising the standard of retail banking in Brunei.”

Key initiatives contributing to this recognition include the continued enhancement of Emmi, the Bank’s Generative AI powered chatbot, which supports faster query resolution and easier access to essential banking services across digital channels, including WhatsApp.

The bank has also expanded its digital payments ecosystem through Baiduri Tap2Pay, enabling merchants, particularly SMEs and microbusinesses, to accept contactless payments using NFC enabled smartphones without additional hardware.
