After more than two decades of captivating listeners through heartfelt ballads and emotionally driven alternative pop records, Aizat Amdan now steps into a new artistic phase with the release of his latest single, “Ajar Aku”, a powerful collaboration with acclaimed Malaysian post-hardcore band, Sekumpulan Orang Gila (SOG).
Released under Kasi Gegar Entertainment (KGE), “Ajar Aku” is far more than a conventional collaboration. The single represents a fearless meeting point between two contrasting musical identities that chose to step beyond familiar territory in pursuit of something honest, emotionally charged and refreshing.
Blending Aizat’s signature melodic sensitivity and introspective storytelling with SOG’s raw post-hardcore intensity and explosive energy, “Ajar Aku” emerges as a progressive pop-rock piece layered with cinematic textures and modern alternative influences, resulting in a soundscape that feels both fresh and distinctive.

SOG, who appeared as guests on the podcast in May last year, eventually became part of the creative process that shaped the track in real time during the episode itself.
“We started by talking about music, our artistic journeys and experiences within the industry. During the podcast session itself, we slowly began building ideas, and eventually ‘Ajar Aku’ was created organically from that moment,” shared Aizat.
Fans and listeners can also witness the song’s earliest beginnings through “Dari Studio EP34”, now available on YouTube.
At its core, “Ajar Aku” explores themes that resonate deeply with everyday life, the courage to put aside one’s ego in order to embrace guidance, love and personal growth.
Although the song is not based on one specific event, Aizat explained that it draws from accumulated emotions and observations throughout his personal and artistic journey.
“It’s about people searching for direction and not being ashamed to ask for guidance. Sometimes we become too consumed by ego to accept advice, when learning itself is an essential part of life,” he explained.
Musically, “Ajar Aku” stands as the intersection between two contrasting yet complementary musical identities.
Aizat’s soulful vocal delivery and melodic softness are paired against the harsher and more aggressive vocal textures of Raja Nazrin Shah, creating a dynamic emotional tension throughout the track.
According to Aizat, finding balance between these two worlds became one of the biggest challenges during the recording process.
“My vocals lean more soulful, while Nazrin’s vocal character is rougher and rock-driven. We experimented a lot to find a middle ground where both identities could co-exist while still sounding balanced together,” he said.

The song is further strengthened by production work from Anas Amdan, whose arrangement, string sections and cinematic textures helped elevate the emotional scale and dramatic progression of the record.
One of the song’s biggest surprises comes through the special vocal appearance by Yuna during the closing moments of “Ajar Aku”.
According to Aizat, Yuna happened to be working on material for her upcoming album at KGE Studio during the recording process when she was introduced to the track.
Interestingly, the female vocal section at the end of the song originally existed only as a temporary AI-
generated demo.
“When Yuna heard the ending section, she immediately said, ‘Let me record this part instead.’ What began as an AI vocal demo eventually became something far more alive, honest and meaningful,” Aizat shared.
He added that Yuna was also among the earliest people to believe in the song’s potential, even encouraging the team to produce an official music video (MV) for the release.
For Aizat, “Ajar Aku” is not simply an attempt to merge two contrasting genres, but rather an effort to push the boundaries of local music through a more open-minded and fearless creative approach.
He hopes listeners will embrace the song as a sincere musical experiment with strong artistic value while still preserving the individuality and soul of everyone involved.
“I hope listeners will embrace this fusion of sounds and realise that local music can continue evolving and experimenting without losing its emotion and honesty. Insya-Allah, we hope ‘Ajar Aku’ becomes a timeless song that remains relevant as time goes on,” he concluded.
“Ajar Aku” by Aizat Amdan x Sekumpulan Orang Gila is now available on all major digital streaming platforms including Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube.
