Kao Malaysia empowers women through Laurier and Magiclean collaboration with Ibupreneur

Kao Malaysia continues to champion women’s empowerment through Laurier and Magiclean, in collaboration with Ibupreneur, marking the third consecutive year of partnership dedicated to uplifting mothers from underserved communities.

Rooted in Kao’s ‘Kirei’ philosophy of making life beautiful for all, the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to creating meaningful and sustainable societal impact.

Through the Laurier Cares Movement and Magiclean’s focus on hygiene and cleanliness, the collaboration aims to empower financially dependent mothers — especially during Ramadan and Raya season — by providing them with the tools, skills, and support needed to build confidence and independence.

More than a charitable effort, the initiative is designed to foster long-term empowerment through a holistic approach centred on economic support, skill development, and well-being. This year’s programme saw Kao volunteers working alongside Ibupreneur mothers baking Raya cookies, helping to increase production output during the festive season.

These cookies were later purchased by Kao Malaysia as goodwill gifts for our retail partners, directly contributing to the mothers’ household income.

In addition, Laurier and Magiclean sponsored a series of workshops focused on branding and digital skills, including catalogue design using AI and Canva, as well as TikTok content creation for business—equipping participants with practical tools to sustain and grow their businesses.

Recognising the challenges faced by vulnerable families, the initiative also extended crisis support to selected Ibupreneur mothers affected by floods.

This included home cleaning assistance to restore safe and comfortable living environments, along with product hampers worth up to RM200 and cash vouchers of up to RM1,500 to support daily necessities. In total, Kao Malaysia contributed RM15,000 worth of essential products, including Laurier sanitary care items and Magiclean household cleaning solutions, benefiting 50 mothers.

The campaign concluded in the Kao x Ibupreneur Raya Open House 2026, held at Ibupreneur HQ in TTDI under the theme “Sharing Love, Spreading Hope.” The event brought together Ibupreneur mothers, Kao volunteers, and partners to celebrate the women’s journeys toward independence and resilience.

The contribution was officially presented by Kao Malaysia President, Yamazaki Hirobumi, alongside Ibupreneur CEO and Co-Founder, Aida Zunaidi.

Speaking at the event, Jessie Khong, the AVP of HCD and Admin of Kao Malaysia, highlighted the purpose behind the collaboration: “Our partnership with Ibupreneur goes beyond products — it is about creating a lasting and meaningful impact. Through Laurier and Magiclean, we aim to support women’s confidence, well-being, and independence, while enabling them to build sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their families.”

She added that Kao remains committed to understanding the real-life challenges faced by women and designing initiatives that provide both practical

support and long-term opportunities.

Ibupreneur CEO Aida (pic) said the NGO always welcomed participation from the corporate sector in helping their cause in elevating mothers to a better and more comfortable lifestyle.

"Many of them have gone through much hardship in their lives. We are just trying to do better for all the mothers out there," added Aida.

Two of the participants of such events by Kao and Ibupreneur, Yusniza Yusof, 41, and Siti Musliha Ismail, 46, said they were very thankful for such events that have helped them to be in a better position.

"Such workshops are very helpful, and Ibupreneur have always held excellent workshops that always help mothers in their lives. We hope they keep it going as it helps mothers to become better acquainted with life itself," said Yusniza.
