When the first raindrops of Hujan 'fell' and soaked the Malaysian music industry in 2005, not many expected that the work introduced would not only nurture the band's name in their homeland but also 'cool down' the entertainment industry in the archipelago.
Like the blessing of rain pouring from the sky, through their first album Hujan released in 2007, this band inadvertently broke into the vibrant pop music scene of that time and simultaneously sparked a wave of 'craze' for the alternative indie rock genre they brought.
The main pillars of Hujan, namely Noh Salleh, AG Coco, Hang Dimas, and Azham Ahmad (the founders) followed by the presence of Izzat Uzaini until now, continue to be renowned, as renowned as their works. The journey of Hujan has also been coloured by several session musicians such as Dukegong, Ojoe, and Jaja.
Not only "Pagi Yang Gelap," "Aku Skandal," "DugaanNya," "Ahmoi Chantek," "Bila Aku Sudah Tiada," "Gundah," and "Pijak Hatiku" that became popular, Hujan also produced many quality works in every studio album they released, receiving recognition in the Anugerah Industri Muzik 16 (AIM 16) for Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song.
With a long history not only of achievements and recognition obtained but also the ups and downs of being musicians, which at times have affected their reputation, Hujan remains consistent in producing quality works and has released 9 albums to date.
Until reaching the age of two decades or 20 years, Hujan remained steadfast and became a reference for many previous and current bands, serving as one of the benchmarks that transformed the landscape of music reception and innovation in the early 2000s.
Hujan is like an irreplaceable legend of Malaysian Indie music.
Recognising and proud of Hujan's achievements and resilience in the music world, ICON Entertainment did not hesitate to organise a grand celebration for Hujan's 20th anniversary.
Named HUJAN XX: #HUJAN20TAHUN, this large-scale concert will take place at the National Hockey Stadium, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, on June 27, 2026.
According to ICON entertainment, Hujan should have been celebrated a long time ago but waited 20 years to organize a grand party for the band as a sign of appreciation for the extraordinary works they have produced.
Not forgetting to express millions of thanks to Hujan fans called Raingers for always supporting and giving unwavering support.
"In every era or phase of Malaysian music, musicians or creators will emerge who are capable of becoming legends."

Breaking into the Malaysian market at a time when the pop genre and solo artists were dominating with their indie style, and music was a courage that is hard to achieve if one is not 'thick-skinned'.
"The courage, quality, spirit, and never-ending creativity brought by Hujan have been the main factors for ICON Entertainment to not think twice about organizing HUJAN XX: #HUJAN20TAHUN."

ICON is also confident that HUJAN XX: #HUJAN20TAHUN will be 'rained' upon by Raingers coming from all corners of Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Indonesia who will never leave this band 'drought' without them.
For Hujan, who will be celebrating their 20th anniversary through HUJAN XX: #HUJAN20TAHUN at the Bukit Jalil Hockey Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, on June 27, 2026, the event is not about them.
However, HUJAN XX: #HUJAN20TAHUN is about celebrating the 'scene', comrades who have broken the barriers of music genres, especially indie, then struggled with the market and general audience acceptance while remaining relevant until now.
And of course, HUJAN XX: #HUJAN20TAHUN will see the 'main cast' take the stage and embrace the Raingers through a celebration filled with a long journey and the ups and downs of a career that has kept this band going for two decades.
"HUJAN XX: #HUJAN20TAHUN is not about Hujan but about our passion for celebrating the indie band warriors who once faced great challenges to break through and dismantle the existing walls of commercial music," said Hujan team member AG Coco.
"Indie was once considered foreign." Our music received the perception that it was difficult and hard to succeed in the commercial market.
"But look, after the group of indie musicians who believe that there is no discrimination or caste in music, we have finally proven that genre diversity makes the local music industry more vibrant."
"And indie from Malaysia is also well-received in the archipelago because in other parts of the world, indie artists are also celebrated." This is what we want to celebrate in HUJAN XX: #HUJAN20YEARS. The celebration of music and all genres, even if they are not the same, needs to be celebrated, said AG.
