BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: A total of 280 students from Year 7 and 8 of Masin Secondary School attended the ‘Kenali Asean’ roadshow held on April 2 at the school’s hall.

The roadshow was organised by the Information Department under the Prime Minister’s Office, through the International Affairs Desk of the Corporate Relations Unit, Media and Corporate Communications Division, in its capacity as Secretariat to the Asean-COCI Sub-Committee on Information.

Among the highlights of the roadshow was a briefing delivered by Head of the International Affairs Desk, Corporate Relations Unit, Media and Corporate Communications Division, Information Department Eddy Iswandy Ismail.

The session aimed at instilling awareness among students regarding their role as part of the Asean community, in line with the regional motto, ‘One Vision, One Identity, One Community’.

Students also had the opportunity to participate in a Kenali Asean quiz, with prizes presented by the school’s principal Norwen Brahim. The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to promote a greater understanding of Asean while fostering patriotism and a sense of unity, or ‘Asean-ness’. The programme seeks to instil an appreciation of the regional organisation’s purpose and functions.

The roadshow serves to strengthen ties between the Information Department and the community, particularly among young students.

The programme is designed to nurture future generations who will carry forward national continuity and play a vital role in shaping the direction of the country in the years ahead. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
