Brunei royal family host Hari Raya reception for VVIP guests

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Set against the festive backdrop of Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, a reception at Istana Nurul Iman brought together members of the diplomatic community, highlighting the role of cultural celebrations in strengthening mutual understanding and international cooperation in Brunei.

Marking the first day of Hari Raya Aidil Fitri in the country this year, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam hosted a Hari Raya reception for VVIP guests on Saturday (March 21).

Their Majesties arrived at the Banquet Hall accompanied by Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman; Prince ‘Abdul Malik and Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah; as well as Prince ‘Abdul Mateen and Pengiran Anak Isteri Anisha Rosnah.

Also present were His Majesty’s brothers, Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah and Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah binti Dato Haji Nasir, and Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.

Members of the royal family in attendance also included His Majesty’s daughters — Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah; Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah; Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah; Princess ‘Azemah Ni’matul Bolkiah; Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah; and Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah.

Also gracing the reception were His Majesty’s sisters, Princess Hajah Masna and Princess Hajah Umi Kalthum Al-Islam, along with grandchildren of Their Majesties and other members of the royal family.

The Reception Hall was adorned with elegant decorations, while the warm and joyful atmosphere reflected the spirit of Hari Raya as guests gathered to celebrate the occasion.

Among those present were state dignitaries, Cabinet Ministers, foreign diplomats and senior government officials, who took the opportunity to convey their Hari Raya greetings to His Majesty and members of the royal family. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
