Hari Raya begins Saturday (March 21) in Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Brunei Darussalam will celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri on Saturday, 1 Syawal 1447 Hijrah corresponding to March 21 as the hilal (crescent) of Syawal 1447H was not sighted at vantage points set up across the country this evening.

The announcement was made with the consent of His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and broadcast on Radio Television Brunei (RTB) Thursday (March 19) evening.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri prayers will be observed across all mosques and major suraus in the country Saturday morning, and the country will also observe a three-day public holiday. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
