Laos, Book Festival

VIENTIANE: The International Book and Culture Festival is being held in the Lao capital Vientiane from March 10 to 15. Under the theme "Books Connecting Cultures," the event aims to foster a culture of reading, promote lifelong learning and inspire Lao youth to explore knowledge through the written word.

Featuring 75 booths from 59 participating organisations, the event is expected to attract more than 20,000 visitors.

The event draws participation from a wide range of organisations, including educational institutions from countries operating in Laos such as China, the Britain, France, Canada and Australia. Lao publishing houses, local educational institutions and other organisations in the education sector are also taking part. - Xinhua
