ULAANBAATAR: J. Tseden-Ish, a herdsman from Erdenetsagaan soum, Sukhbaatar province, will compete for the championship at the Golden Shears World Shearing and Woolhandling Championships, the sport’s premier event being held in Masterton, New Zealand. The four-day meeting runs from 4–7 March 2026.
J. Tseden-Ish finished second in the semifinal and won the final in the Novice category (54 competitors), and is scheduled to compete for the championship.
The Golden Shears attracts top competitors from more than 20 countries and features three main disciplines: machine shearing, hand-shearing, and wool handling/sorting. Competing nations include New Zealand, Australia, Great Britain, South Africa, France and Mongolia.
