PETALING JAYA: Cili Kampung Malaysia, a leader in authentic Malay dining, announced the acquisition of a 50% equity stake in the renowned artisanal brand, Dotty's Pastries & Coffee (Dotty's), at an official signing ceremony held at Ruang Rama Event Space today.

Signing on behalf of Cili Kampung Malaysia was its Director of Cili Kampung Malaysia, Khairul Anwar Datuk Sri Abdul Azeez (pic), while signing on behalf of Dotty's was its founder, Nadia Nasimuddin. They were accompanied by Kesavan (KC) Purusotman, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Cili Kampung Malaysia, and Kaylee Low, Senior Commercial and Business Development Manager of Dotty’s Pastries & Coffee.

Well-regarded as one of Kuala Lumpur's favourite bakeries, Dotty’s Pastries & Coffee occupies a unique space that blends artisanal craft with high-frequency consumer demand, while Cili Kampung is a brand that has mastered the art of authentic Malaysian hospitality.

This transformative move marks a pivotal milestone as Dotty's enters its 10th anniversary. This union is engineered to leverage Cili Kampung's aggressive operational scale in expanding Dotty's market footprint and solidifying its position as Malaysia's definitive Halal-certified artisanal dining destination.

"Our acquisition of a 50% stake in Dotty's is a deliberate move to institutionalise a brand that has defined the all-day dining experience for a decade. With a valuation of RM24 Million, we are signaling our confidence in Dotty's legacy. By combining our operational DNA with Dotty's artisanal excellence, we are creating a powerhouse that will redefine the hospitality landscape in Malaysia and beyond," expressed Anwar Azeez in his opening address.

“We are merging two of Malaysia’s most formidable culinary identities. On one side, you have Cili Kampung—a brand that has mastered the art of authentic Malaysian hospitality and rapid operational scale. On the other hand, you have Dotty’s — a brand that has spent a decade perfecting the intersection of contemporary lifestyle and artisanal quality,” he added.

As for Dotty's, Nadia (pic) said the merging also ensures the new look at its flagship store in KLCC and also pushes its expansion plans to a new era as it aims to push its brand further into the Malaysian market.

"As Dotty's enters its tenth anniversary, our focus is on evolving from a beloved local icon into a scalable national powerhouse. This partnership with Cili Kampung is built on a shared commitment to excellence and authentic hospitality.

"I am excited to see Dotty's grow into its full potential as a premier all-day dining, backed by the operational strength that Anwar Azeez and his team bring to the table. We are preserving the artisanal 'warmth' that our customers love while building a future that is sustainable and expansive," said Nadia after the MOU ceremony.

“What makes this investment so significant is the intent behind the capital. At a valuation of RM24 million, this deal is a testament to the institutional strength we have built. This isn't about changing who we are; it is about empowering us to become even more."

The strategic partnership values the Dotty's entity at a total share amount of RM23,912,468. Cili Kampung has taken a significant equity stake by subscribing to 11,956,234 new shares, representing a 50% ownership stake.

Both parties have committed a total sum of RM5 million to the joint venture. This amount is specifically earmarked to fuel aggressive market expansion, modernise operational infrastructure, and spearhead the relaunch of Dotty’s flagship outlet at KLCC.

The primary objective of this strategic alliance is also to move Dotty's beyond its "boutique" status. Cili Kampung will apply its proven rapid-growth model to help Dotty's capture a larger slice of the food and beverage market.

With Dotty's comes a JAKIM Halal-certified central kitchen and premium artisanal IP, while Cili Kampung brings operational command, supply chain efficiency, and expansion expertise.

By combining these two brands, the group aims to create a solid force in the "Modern Malay" lifestyle segment, catering to both traditional diners and the premium cafe-hopping demographic, turning both brands into scalable "Malay Vertical" powerhouses.
