Laos focuses on modernising its labour force and safeguarding workers


VIENTIANE (Xinhua): Laos continues its efforts to modernise and digitalise the labour and social welfare sector, while improving workers' skills and strengthening the protection of their rights and interests.

The Lao Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare held its 2025 technical conference in the Lao capital, Vientiane, from Thursday to Friday.

In his speech, Lao Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Phoxay Sayasone stated that the conference aims to ensure the effective implementation of national labour and social welfare targets in line with the country's socio-economic development plan.

Speaking at the conference on Friday, Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone emphasised the importance of coordinated efforts between ministries and local authorities to implement policies effectively and achieve tangible results in 2026. -- Xinhua
