BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Belait District Office parking area came alive on Thursday night (Jan 22) with the launch of the JDB Pop Up Market x Big Kem Race Village and Big Kem Run 2026, transforming the venue into a hub of community, sports and entrepreneurial activities.

Running until January 25, the four-day event is organised by the Kampung Pandan Village Consultative Council (MPK) in collaboration with the Big Kem Project and the Belait District Office. It aims to foster community engagement while promoting an active lifestyle and supporting local businesses.

Among the highlights are a pop-up market featuring more than 40 invited vendors and local entrepreneurs, alongside martial arts demonstrations, cultural performances and various sports showcases held throughout the event.

The Big Kem Run 2026, scheduled for the final day on January 25, will begin at 5.30am and is open to the public. Participants will compete in several categories along routes that take runners through scenic areas around Kuala Belait town.

Members of the public are welcome to visit and take part in the activities, which run daily from 8am to 8pm. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
