Myanmar's Shwedagon Pagoda draws over 6.95 million visitors in 2025

YANGON: Myanmar's Shwedagon Pagoda, also known as the Golden Pagoda, attracted over 6.95 million visitors in 2025, Boe Thin, a member of the Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees, told Xinhua on Friday (Jan 9).

Among them, over 76,000 were foreign visitors, he said.

The number of visitors in 2025 decreased compared to 2024, when over 8.65 million people visited the pagoda, including over 90,000 foreigners, he added. - Xinhua
