Brunei operation uncovers contraband in Tutong


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: A joint operation conducted by the Tutong Police District of Royal Brunei Police Force targeting a residence in Kampong Ukong, Tutong District discovered contraband of 69 cartons and 12 packets of cigarettes as well as a vape.

The operation involved 25 officers led by Tutong Police District Crime Officer, Assistant Superintendent Police Ahmad Faez Mohd Hani with the participation of Tutong District Office, the Zakat, Waqaf and Baitulmal Management Department (JUZWAB) and the Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED).

They were assisted by the Criminal Intelligent Department. As a result of the operation, the RCED seized the contraband that was found.

All the seized items were issued with Seizure Notices, and two individuals – one a local citizen and the other stateless – were instructed to report to the RCED Investigation Unit in Kuala Belait for further investigation.

In addition, the Tutong District Office detected offences related to environmental cleanliness, while JUZWAB Tutong identified several violations of rental housing conditions as well as activities that disrupted the harmony and peace of the local community.
