BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Brunei Postal Service Department (BPSD) has been corporatised into PosBru Sdn Bhd (PosBru) effective Thursday (Jan 1).

Following the transition, all existing postal services previously under the purview of BPSD have been fully transferred to PosBru, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Darussalam Assets Sdn Bhd.

PosBru will operate as the designated “Public Postal Licensee”, regulated by the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam.

As the designated operator for Brunei Darussalam under the Universal Postal Union, PosBru will continue to provide comprehensive postal services to the community.

At the same time, PosBru aims to position itself as a competitive and sustainable organisation, committed to delivering high-quality services and meeting customer needs with professionalism.

The company will also continue to advance its ongoing transformation initiatives to drive positive changes within the community through the postal and parcel services industry, thereby contributing to the nation’s overall economic development.

The company also announced that the current rates for letters and parcels will remain unchanged while all services and operations at existing post office branches will continue as usual.

The transition will not affect existing services or daily dealings with the public. The revitalisation of all PosBru branches including a full brand refresh and interior upgrades, will roll out in phases, allowing the building to remain operational while ensuring a seamless transition and minimal disruption for customers and tenants. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
