Airport in Vietnam's southern hub to handle 131,000 passengers daily during New Year holiday

HANOI: Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City is expected to handle about 131,000 passengers per day during the upcoming four-day New Year holiday, up nine per cent compared with normal days, Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday (Dec 30).

The total number of departing and arriving flights is projected at around 760 per day, including 450 domestic and 310 international services.

Passenger traffic is expected to peak on Jan. 1 and Jan. 4, the first and last days of the holiday, with about 786 flights and approximately 135,000 passengers each day.

Authorities have advised passengers to use public transportation instead of private vehicles to reduce pressure on parking facilities at the airport. - Xinhua
