13 people killed, dozens injured in vehicle pile-up in North India


NEW DELHI (Bernama): At least 13 people were reported killed and 70 injured in a vehicle pileup on an expressway in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

Many victims were charred to death in the accident involving seven buses and three cars on the Yamuna Expressway between Delhi and Agra.

The collision occurred in the Mathura district due to low visibility caused by dense fog around 4.30 am, a police official said.

Videos of the accident posted on social media showed several vehicles engulfed in flames.

Dozens of injured people were being treated for burns at various hospitals. -- Bernama
