Bruneian climbers reach Himalayan summit

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Bruneians Cheong Kok Liang and Michelle Charlene Basir successfully summited Mera Peak in Nepal, reaching the 6,476-metre Himalayan peak at approximately 8.30am (Nepal Standard Time) on November 20, after a six-year break from mountaineering.

The achievement marks the pair’s fifth mountain summit together, having conquered Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Kinabalu, Mount Rinjani and Stok Kangri.
