HANOI: Vietnam's capital Hanoi has installed nearly 1,900 artificial intelligence (AI)-powered surveillance cameras to detect traffic violations, with official operation expected by the end of 2025, the local newspaper Tuoi Tre (Youth) reported Thursday (Oct 23).
The camera system, equipped with 360-degree rotation, long-range detection of up to 700m, and all-weather functionality, will also measure real-time traffic flow and automatically adjust traffic signal cycles to reduce congestion and waiting time at intersections.
