Myanmar observes World Standards Day 2025

YANGON: Myanmar observed World Standards Day 2025 at the Ministry of Science and Technology in Naypyidaw on Tuesday (Oct 14), the state-owned daily Myanma Alinn reported on Wednesday.

During the event, Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, who also serves as chair of the National Standards Council, highlighted this year's theme, "Shared Vision for a Better World: Spotlight on SDG 17 - Partnerships for the Goals."

He said that international standards are essential for global development, as they help accelerate technology and innovation.

He added that Myanmar has successfully approved 948 standards in accordance with relevant sectors, and by applying these standards across both government and private sectors, domestic products can gain higher quality and international recognition. This will contribute to smoother trade and strengthen the country's export sector. - Xinhua
