MANDALAY: The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology reported that a 4.1-magnitude aftershock struck on the four-month anniversary of the powerful earthquake.

The tremor occurred at 12:01 AM on July 28, centred about south of Maha Aungmye Township in Mandalay Region, at a depth of 33 kilometres.

"We can’t sleep properly. Since it was a strong nighttime quake, we couldn’t go back to sleep," said a Mandalay resident.

This marks the 214th aftershock recorded so far.
