Brunei's Kampong Kapok folk show love for their Ruler

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Kampong Kapok Village Consultative Council (MPK) organised a flag hoisting ceremony in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 79th birthday celebration.

The event was held at the open area of the Kampong Kapok’s village head’s residence.

The ceremony aimed to enliven the atmosphere of the Ruler's birthday celebration and demonstrate love for the monarch.

It began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by head imam of Kampong Kapok Mosque imam Raffi Duming.

This was followed by the flag-hoisting ceremony, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem and further enlivened by the waving of flags by students.

Acting Brunei-Muara District Officer Pengiran Muhammad Ameer Mubaarak Pengiran Hashim was the guest of honour.

Commanding officer of Muara Police Station, head of Muara Fire Station, headmaster of Kampong Kapok Primary School, headmaster of Kampong Kapok Religious School, village residents and teachers from Kampong Kapok School were also present. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
