Thai PM taps military figure for defence minister

BANGKOK: The government led by Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra (pic) will continue its administration with plans to appoint a senior military officer to head the Defence Ministry.

Despite the withdrawal of the Bhumjaithai Party from the coalition last week, the remaining coalition partners reaffirmed their support for Paetongtarn, who also leads the Pheu Thai Party.
