Cambodia threatens to ban imports of vegetables, fruits from Thailand

PHNOM PENH: Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen Monday (June 16) warned to ban the imports of vegetables and fruits from Thailand within 24 hours if the latter does not normalise the operation at border crossings.

Hun Sen, also president of the ruling Cambodian People's Party, made the remarks in a message live televised on the state-run TVK.

Border tensions between the two countries have mounted recently after soldiers of both countries briefly exchanged gunfire in a disputed border area, resulting in the death of a Cambodian soldier. - Xinhua
