BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The recent signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and Brunei aims to bolster economic cooperation through various means, including the exchange of market data and regulatory information.

Signed by President of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture Samad Hassanzadeh and President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Brunei Darussalam Abdul Saman Ahmad, the MoU promotes trade and investment.

The agreement outlines support for trade and investment delegations and encourages collaborative events such as exhibitions and trade fairs in both countries.

The five-year MoU was formalised during the Iran Expo 2025 event. During a meeting between the Iranian and Bruneian chamber presidents, the establishment of a joint chamber of commerce was highlighted as a crucial step towards stronger bilateral ties.

Both parties underscored the significance of leveraging their natural resources and cultural heritage for mutual benefit and stressed the importance of closer cooperation to strengthen trade relations.

The potential for collaboration in cultural and educational exchanges was also noted.
