SINGAPORE: All Singaporean households will receive S$500 in CDC vouchers from May 13, to help them alleviate their daily expenses.

Half – or $250 – of the vouchers can be used in supermarkets, with the other half at participating hawker stalls and heartland merchants, said the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the Community Development Councils (CDCs) in a joint release on April 15.

They will be valid till Dec 31, 2025.

The seventh and latest tranche of vouchers was announced by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong during Budget 2025 in February. Another $300 in CDC vouchers will be issued in January 2026.

They were introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic to show appreciation to Singaporeans for their solidarity during that period, and support businesses.

The payout was continued after the pandemic to help Singaporeans cushion the impact of rising prices.

The sixth tranche of $300 in vouchers was issued in January 2025. These vouchers would also be valid till Dec 31, 2025.

In a Facebook post on April 15, Mayor of South West District Low Yen Ling said over 1.28 million households – or about 97 per cent of the 1.33 million Singaporean households – have claimed the vouchers issued in January.

Close to $300 million has been spent so far – more than $142 million at participating hawkers and merchants, and more than $157 million at supermarkets, she added.

MOF and the CDCs advise the public to be careful when claiming the payout.

“Please note that you will never receive a request to disclose your bank log-in details, be asked to transfer money, or install mobile applications from unofficial app stores to claim the CDC vouchers,” the joint release said.

The police in January said they received reports from people who got messages with a fake RedeemSG website link, following the disbursement of the CDC vouchers then.
