Former Lao president Khamtay Siphandone passes away at 102


VIENTIANE: Laos' former President Khamtay Siphandone (pic) passed away at the age of 102 at 10:30pm local time on Wednesday (April 2) due to old age, according to the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee.

In honour of the late president, the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, the Lao National Assembly, the Lao government, and the Lao Front for National Construction have declared five days of national mourning starting Thursday. - Xinhua
