Australian woman arrested for allegedly stealing perfume while in transit at Changi Airport two years ago

SINGAPORE: A 35-year-old woman has been nabbed for allegedly stealing a bottle of perfume worth S$248 two years ago while in transit at Changi Airport.

The police said on Thursday (April 3) that they were alerted after the item was discovered missing from The Shilla Duty Free Perfume and Cosmetics Shop at Changi Airport Terminal 1 departure transit area on March 23, 2023.

By the time the police identified the Australian woman, she had already flown out of Singapore.

She was arrested after returning to Singapore on March 31.

She will be charged with theft in dwelling on April 4, which carries a jail term of up to seven years and a fine. - The Straits Times/ANN
