Twenty arrested in Brunei drug bust

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Brunei's Narcotic Control Bureau has nabbed 20 people aged 18 to 52 in a drug bust at Bukit Beruang national housing scheme in Tutong district, it said in a statement on Tuesday (March 25), reported Xinhua.

A total of 19.33 grams of syabu-drugs (methamphetamine) were seized along with equipment to inhale drugs, a mobile phone, a weighing scale, and scissors.

The Narcotic Control Bureau said the operation was a follow-up of similar raids conducted in June and July 2024.

The operation was an effort to eradicate drug activities in the housing scheme area, which is regarded as one of the hotspots in the district.

The bureau said it will continue to step up efforts to eradicate drug activities that affect the harmony and well-being of the people and it has zero tolerance towards such activity in the country. - Bernama/Xinhua
