Mandopop sensation G.E.M. thrills a full house crowd of more than 50,000 at Bukit Jalil National Stadium


ASIAN music powerhouse G.E.M. promised a starry, starry show and that she delivered on Saturday (Feb 15) that thrilled a delirious over 50,000 fans at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

The concert marks G.E.M.’s her long-awaited return to Malaysia after six years and first-ever performance at this renowned venue, signifying a milestone in her celebrated career.

The concert itself was a state-of-the-art production, featuring cutting-edge visuals, world-class stage design, and G.E.M.’s signature emotional and powerful performances.

The event was indeed a transformative evening where music, passion, and connection converge to deliver an unforgettable experience.

Presented by Maybank, organized by TOPTOP Productions, and co-organised by Star Planet, G.E.M. “I AM GLORIA” World Tour in Kuala Lumpur 2025 was indeed a spectacle that will not be forgotten for a long time.

G.E.M. : A LEGEND IN MANDARIN POP MUSIC

G.E.M.'s journey to stardom began at just 16, mesmerizing audiences with her extraordinary vocals.

Now a Mandopop icon, she has delivered chart-topping hits like “Bubble”, “TIK TOK”, “Light Years Away” and “Long Distance”, solidifying her reputation as one of the genre's most celebrated singer-songwriters.

In the past 16 years of her career, G.E.M. has penned over 100 original songs and achieved record-breaking milestones, including being the first female Chinese artist to headline shows across China’s 5 biggest stadiums, including Guangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing and Hangzhou.

To this day, G.E.M. 'I AM GLORIA' has held consecutive 75 shows, breaking her previous touring records.

Furthermore, she is the youngest female artist and the first female artist born in the 90s to headline the Hong Kong Coliseum. Her creative artistry has earned her multiple Golden Melody Award nominations for “Best Mandarin Female Singer,” cementing her influence in the industry.

Her accolades include a Guinness World Record for “Light Years Away” as the most-viewed Chinese music video on YouTube and recognition as Spotify’s Most-Streamed Chinese Female Artist. G.E.M BACKGROUNDER

Gloria Tang Sze-wing (born 16 August 1991), known professionally as G.E.M. (backronym of Get Everybody Moving) or Tang Tsz-kei[b], is a Hong Kong singer, songwriter, and producer.

Born in Shanghai and raised in Hong Kong, G.E.M. made her debut in 2008 with the release of her self-titled Cantonese extended play G.E.M. The release won her the gold award for best newcomer at three major music awards ceremonies in Hong Kong. Her debut studio album, 18... (2009), was named one of the top ten best-selling records in the territory in 2009.

In 2016, G.E.M. became the only Asian artist featured on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. That same year, she released the single "Light Years Away" as the Chinese theme song for the film Passengers, which remains the most viewed music video by a Chinese artist on YouTube.

G.E.M. embarked on her 'I am GLORIA' World Tour in 2023, which grossed over US$70 million within six months alone.

G.E.M. has won numerous accolades throughout her career, including sixteen IFPI Hong Kong Sales Awards, twelve RTHK Top 10 Gold Songs Awards, thirteen Metro Radio Mandarin Music Awards, one Golden Melody Award, and one MTV Europe Music Award. In 2018, she was included at number 34 on BBC's 100 Women list of influential women from around the world.
