China President Xi holds talks with Brunei's Sultan in Beijing


Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah arrived in Beijing, China for a state visiton Wednesday. Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

BEIJING (Bandar Seri Begawan/ANN): Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah in Beijing on Thursday.

Sultan Hassanal had arrived in Beijing, China for a state visit on Wednesday.

His Majesty will also attend the ninth Asian Winter Games to be held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province.

Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

Upon arrival at Beijing Capital International Airport, His Majesty was welcomed by China’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Han Jun; and Ambassador of China to Brunei Darussalam Xiao Jianguo.

Also present to greet Sultan Hassanal on arrival were Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof and Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to China Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Pahlawan Colonel (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Abdu’r Rahmani bin Dato Paduka Haji Basir.

Earlier, prior to leaving Istana Nurul Iman, a Doa Selamat was recited by State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned.

Present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar in Rimba to bid farewell to His Majesty were members of the royal family.

Also present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar to bid farewell to His Majesty were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-pengiran Cheteria; Cabinet ministers; members of the Privy Council; deputy ministers; the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces; and the Acting Commissioner of Police of the Royal Brunei Police Force. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
