HANOI: Vietnam took a significant step onto the global stage in June 2014 by sending its first two military officers to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan.

Over the past 10 years, this commitment has grown steadily, with 1,065 personnel deployed as of December 2024.
