Laos and Cambodia sign trade deals to further boost bilateral ties and cooperation

VIENTIANE/PHNOM PENH(Bernama-Xinhua): Cambodia and Laos this week have signed three deals to further promote bilateral ties and cooperation, said a news release after the event.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and visiting Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone witnessed the signing ceremony of the agreements following their bilateral meeting at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh.

One of the signed documents was an agreement on eliminating double taxation with respect to income taxes and preventing tax evasion and avoidance between the two neighbouring countries, according to the news release.

The two sides also signed memorandums of understanding on agricultural, cultural and arts cooperation, it said.

Sonexay arrived in Phnom Penh on Wednesday morning for a two-day official visit at the invitation of Hun Manet. - Bernama-Xinhua
