Vietnam economy to grow at 6.1% in 2025: IMF

HANOI: Vietnam's economy is projected to grow by 6.1 per cent next year, according to the updated World Economic Outlook 2025 report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Xinhua reported.

This figure remains unchanged from the growth forecast for 2024. Vietnam's consumer prices will rise by 3.5 per cent in 2025, a decrease of 0.6 per cent compared to the previous year, according to the IMF.

According to the economic development scenarios presented by the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Southeast Asian country's economy is forecast to grow at around 6.5 to 7.5 per cent next year.

While delivering a speech at the National Assembly's meeting this week, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the government would strive to achieve a higher growth rate at 7 to 7.5 per cent in 2025. - Bernama-Xinhua
