KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian golfer Liyana Durisic is excited about making her professional debut on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour in the four-day Maybank Championship at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club from Thursday (Oct 24).

As much as the 23-year-old views the championship as a pivotal start to her fledgling career, she also knows that she should take things easy and not heap too much pressure on herself as she takes her first jab at professional golf.

"The most important thing for me is just to soak it all in. It's my first one (as a pro).

"No pressure, no expectations. Just go out there and enjoy the game,” she said at a press conference ahead of the championship here today.

Having said that, she also knows that she must be ready to get her game up another notch against some of the world’s best professionals.

"I think this event is going to be a really good start for my professional career.

"It's nice to be starting off obviously as a fresh professional and to be playing with people who have done this for so long," she said.

As for her game at event she added she just wants to have fun and at the same time do well in the next four days.

"Personally for me I think it's important to just hit the ball at the right spot. The greens are somewhat tricky so I think it's important to place the ball

correctly on the fairway and then get as close as possible to the green. Just aim to the best part of the green and just putt well," she said.

Liyana adds that she is also focused on learning as much as she can, especially from the experienced and seasoned players.

While Liyana is chill about her participation, Nur Durriyah Damian is all business-like as she intends to be competitive in her second professional outing on the LPGA Tour.

The 29-year-old shared that she has been preparing for several months and is hopeful that her efforts will pay off as she eyes not just a strong performance but also creating lasting memories at the prestigious tournament.

"This is my biggest event, so I've been preparing for a few months.

"Hopefully, I can make something and create good memories,” she said.
