EU and Asean sign new agreement on disaster management


VIENTIANE:The European Union (EU) and Asean signed a new agreement on disaster management on Thursday (Oct 17) in Jakarta, the Laos News Agency (KPL) reported.

The European Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarcic and Deputy Secretary General of Asean for Community and Corporate Affairs, Nararya Soeprapto witnessed the signing of an agreement on disaster management between the EU’s department for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DGECHO) and Asean’s Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre).
