Actor Rajinikanth admitted to Chennai hospital for elective procedure, condition stable

CHENNAI: Veteran Indian actor Rajinikanth (pic) was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai late on Monday (Sept 30) for an elective procedure, according to news reports.

The 73-year-old is likely to undergo the procedure on Tuesday, the reports said, adding that his condition was stable.

There has been no official communication from Rajinikanth’s family or the hospital as yet. But media reports claimed that the actor had reportedly complained of stomach pain.

One of India’s most popular actors, Rajinikanth had experienced a similar health scare in 2020, which forced him to let go of his political aspirations.

The Tamil superstar is in the middle of working two films: Vettaiyan by Director Gnanavel Raja, to be released on Oct 10 and Coolie by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
