Myanma tourism bank provides convenient travel loans

YANGON: Myanma Tourism Bank (MTB) provides travel loans in partnership with travel agencies, Chief Credit Officer of the Myanma Tourism Bank U Kyaw Thura Win told Xinhua on Monday (Aug 5).

These loans are available for both domestic trips and international destinations such as Bodh Gaya, Bangkok, Sri Lanka, and China, he said.

"The loans are especially aimed at office workers with a regular monthly income and allows them to pay for trips in installments within a year. By doing this, they don't need to pay large sums of money at once which is convenient for them," U Kyaw Thura Win said.

This travel loan programme was launched in the 2023-24 fiscal year, and about 65 people have used these loans so far, he said.

For international trips, most people use these loans to travel to China, Vietnam and Thailand, he added. - Bernama-Xinhua
