RBAF commander conferred with Singapore’s highest military award

SINGAPORE: Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan was conferred Singapore’s highest military award, Distinguished Service Order (Military) or Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang (Tentera) by the President of the Republic of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam, at an investiture ceremony held at the Ministry of Defence, Republic of Singapore on Thursday (August 1).

The award was conferred in recognition of his significant and outstanding contributions to strengthening the excellent defence relations between the RBAF and the Singapore Armed Forces.

Under his leadership, the interactions and cooperation between the two Armed Forces have been strengthened through a wide range of bilateral military activities such as exercises, trainings, courses, meetings and exchange of visits.

These extensive interactions have further fostered the rapport and camaraderie between personnel of both armed forces.

Prior to the investiture ceremony, the RBAF Commander also called on the Minister for Defence, Republic of Singapore Dr Ng Eng Hen.

The RBAF Commander was previously presented the Meritorious Service Medal (Military) [MSM(M)] by Dr Ng Eng Hen on 14 June 2022 during his introductory visit to Singapore from 13 June until 15 June 2022. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
