Myanmar to compete in badminton, swimming at Paris Olympics


YANGON: Myanmar athletes will compete in badminton and swimming at the Paris Olympics, the state-run media the Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Wednesday (July 24).

Thet Htar Thuzar (pic) will take part in the badminton women's singles competition, while swimmer Bhone Pyae Han will compete in the men's 100m freestyle, the report said.

The Myanmar badminton player, who was part of the Tokyo 2020 contingent, will compete in the Olympics twice in a row, it added.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be held from July 26 to Aug 11. The swimming and badminton competitions will begin on July 27, the report said. - Xinhua
