S. Korean president Yoon's approval rating rises to 26 per cent: poll

SEOUL: South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol (pic)'s approval rating rose 5 percentage points to 26 per cent this week compared to two weeks earlier, a weekly poll showed Friday (June 14).

The negative assessment on Yoon's conduct of state affairs slipped 4 percentage points to 66 per cent, according to local pollster Gallup Korea.

Support for the ruling conservative People Power Party stood unchanged at 30 per cent for the past two weeks.

The main liberal opposition Democratic Party's popularity rating declined 2 percentage points to 27 per cent.

The minor left-leaning Rebuilding Korea Party posted 11 per cent of support score this week, while the minor center-right New Reform Party logged 4 per cent of approval score.

The results were based on a survey of 1,000 voters conducted from Tuesday to Thursday.

It had plus and minus 3.1 percentage points in margin of error with a 95-per cent confidence level. - Xinhua
