YANGON: Myanmar authorities have seized 500kg of methamphetamine and 200kg of ketamine in a recent operation in eastern Myanmar, the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control said on Wednesday (June 12).

Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched a vehicle in Kengtung township of the eastern Shan state last Saturday, and seized the drugs, the committee said.

The seized narcotics was approximately worth 5.7 billion kyats (about US$2.71 million), according to the committee.
