Miss Yangon (North) crowned Miss Universe Myanmar 2024

YANGON (Xinhua): Miss Yangon (North) Thet San Andersen was crowned the title of "Miss Universe Myanmar 2024" in the Miss Universe Myanmar 2024 finale held in Yangon on Friday night.

Thet San Andersen is a designer and run a brand called Seint Studios which is heavily influenced by Burmese culture. She will aim to become the first Myanmar beauty queen to win the Miss Universe crown. Myanmar’s highest placement at the pageant happened in 2020 when Thuzar Wint Lwin made it to the Top 20.

A total of 52 beauty contestants representing big cities in Myanmar participated in the competition.

Thet San Andersen, who represented North Yangon District of Yangon Region, won the crown to be a contestant in the upcoming 73rd Miss Universe pageant which will be held in Mexico.

Miss Universe Myanmar Pageant 2024 is the 11th time of such kind, which has been held since 2013, and the previous titleholder was Amara Bo from Kengtung from eastern Myanmar's Shan State. - Xinhua
