Vietnamese casino employee in Cambodia found dead near canal; police launch massive investigations


PHNOM PENH (Vientiane Times/ANN): Cambodia's Bavet City Police are investigating the circumstances behind the death of a foreign casino employee.

Nguyen Van Luan, 33, an Vietnamese employee of DTG Online Casino, was found dead by a canal behind the premises of DTG Casino and Hotel located in Bavet Kandal Village, Sangkat Bavet, Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province.

The Bavet City Police Inspector assigned the specialized force of Bavet City Police Inspectorate to cooperate with the Technical and Scientific Police Office, the Special Forces of the Bureau of Serious Crimes and Dr. Ung Sovandy, a member of the forensic committee of Chi Phu Hospital, with the coordination of procedures from Mr. Huot Vichet, Deputy Prosecutor of Svay Rieng Provincial Court to examine the body.

Doctors stated that the man had died from a serious bodily injury.

The body was sent by car to the scene analysis office of the Technical and Scientific Department of the Ministry of Interior to be kept at Wat Teuk Thla Mortuary for further investigation. - Vientiane Times/ANN
