Thai tourist boat catches fire off Koh Tao Island in Surat Thani


BANGKOK: Fire broke out on a tourist boat off Koh Tao Island in Surat Thani province on Thursday (April 4) morning.

The number of injuries and fatalities, if any, resulting from the fire are unknown as of press time, but the video clip posted on the Fire & Rescue Thailand Facebook page suggests that the fire is intensifying.

The Disaster and Mitigation Special Unit Facebook page said boats nearby are sailing to the scene to rescue passengers who jumped into the sea. - The Nation/ANN
