Cambodia records first ever death from H5N1 bird flu this year; nine-year-old boy the victim

PHNOM PENH (Xinhua): A nine-year-old boy from northeastern Cambodia's Kratie province had died of H5N1 avian influenza, the first death from the virus in the country so far this year, the Ministry of Health said in a statement late on Friday.

"Laboratory results from the National Institute of Public Health showed on Thursday that the boy was positive for H5N1 bird flu," the ministry said.
