Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Hot-air Balloon Festival to be held in November


YANGON (Eleven Media Group/Asia News Network): Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Hot-air Balloon Festival-2023 will be held from Nov 21-27, according to the Southern Shan State Traditional Hot-air Balloon Professionals Association.

The festival will resume in November 2023 after a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Southern Shan State Traditional Hot-air Balloon Professionals Association plans to present the prizes for the winner through Online voting system.

This year’s festival will take place at the Ahweiya hot-air balloon square in Taunggyi, the capital of Shan state and 63 nighttime hot-air balloons will be launched at the festival.

A total of 115 Nya Mee Kyi and Sein Na Pan hot-air balloons and 281 daytime hot-air balloons were launched during the festival in 2019.
