PATTAYA (The Nation/Asia News Network): A fire broke out at Pattaya Floating Market in Banglamung district of Chonburi province on Thursday evening (Sept 7), destroying about 1 rai (0.39 acres) of the large tourist attraction, which is spread over some 19 rai.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control at around 10pm, Chonburi governor Thawatchai Srithong said, after he and Pattaya mayor Poramet Ngamphichet inspected the scene later last night.
