Thailand on big alert - Police and security agencies prepare plan for Thaksin’s VIP return

BANGKOK (The Nation Thailand/ANN): The Royal Thai Police (RTP) has held a series of security agencies meeting to discuss a plan to transfer fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra into the justice system if he returns to Thailand.

The main meeting was led by Pol Lt-General Prachuap Wongsuk, assistant to the national police chief, and attended by representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Department of Corrections, the Immigration Bureau, the Counter Terrorist Operations Centre, and the Metropolitan Police Bureau.
