BEIJING (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): He was sent to a martial arts club to pick up self-defence lessons but instead, an eight-year-old boy in China was allegedly beaten and left for dead by the very trainer meant to protect him, on the second day of his enrolment.
The boy’s parents had signed him up for a year’s worth of lessons at the Chongde Juying Martial Arts Sports Club starting June 17, paying a reported 7,680 yuan (S$1,440) for him to be trained at the club in Qingdao, Shandong.
